Hi, I’m from Spain.

I will become 33 years old soon and it’s my second birthday in Japan. I like the hot spring and Japanese food very much, and that’s why I learned Japanese. I have learned Japanese in Spain for a short time and then I decided to come to Japan to study Japanese.

After graduating from language school, I tried to find a job in Japan for staying longer. My major was Electronic Engineering when I was in Spain. Now, I would like to use both my Japanese and my engineer skill in new job. If I couldn’t find a job here and need go back to Spain, I also prefer a job related to Japanese. For example, I can teach Japanese in the language school.

I have lived at a school dorm with other foreign students at first. Then I have also lived in a 2LDK’s apartment. But my roommate moved out and I didn’t want to stay alone, so I decided to find a sharehouse. It is more interesting to live with someone.

This is my first time to live in a share house, so I didn’t know anything about share house. Ogikubo North is also the first place where I had an inspection, so I felt a little nervous in the beginning. But when I saw it, I felt I would like to live here, so I did the decision immediately.

I love the Ogikubo North house especially the kitchen. The kitchen has been reformed cleanly, and it’s also spacious. We could cook and chat with other housemates here, it’s very good. It’s not only shower room here but also a spacious bath room, so you could take a bath in the big bathtub.

I have dreamed to live in a Japanese type room, so I am very happy that my room now is Japanese type with tatami. There is also a big window, and there is a Japanese type garden outside my room. For me, this tatami room is the best choose for me.

There have been different girls in Ogikubo North from different countries so far. Everyone here is good at Japanese or English. When I talk with foreigner housemate, I use English. I am always using living room to eat, talk and watch TV with another Canada housemate. If the Japanese housemate come to living room, we will talk in Japanese together.

We also had a house meeting for bicycle parking lot before. Because the place is narrow, when you want to remove the bicycle inside, you have to move the bicycle this side away in advance. So we discussed about everyone’s using time and we found that our time can be interlaced. Who go out earlier, use the space this side; and who go out later, use the space inside, and the problem is resolved. I usually use bicycle in the afternoon, so I put it inside.

This is just a simple thing, but it’s important for me to have a communication with others in Japanese and in a sharehouse.

No, everyone is good, but the special thing is I’m the first resident to live here. At first, I was here alone. Of course it was free that I could use the spacious space by myself, but also felt a little lonely. But other girls moved in quickly, now when I come back I can feel like living with family.

Because I’m a student now, I usually stay at home for studying. When I am tired for the studying, I usually see the garden from the window to let my eyes take a rest. In the summer, the birds will eat the fruite on the tree, and I will listen to the bird’s sound. It can change the my mood.

My favorite thing here is riding the bicycle around our house. Especially to go to the park in the neighborhood. Sometimes, I will find the new supermarket or new shop surprisingly. I really like here the atmosphere around the Ogikubo North house because it’s relaxing and quiet.

This spring, I went to the park to see the cherry blossom by bicycle, and I said hello to other people who came to see the cherry, too. He saw I’m a foreigner and said HI to me in English at first, but they found I can speak Japanese then we started to do a conversion in Japanese. He even invited me to join their family, so we saw the cherry blossom together, and it was a wonderful time. That was a time that I felt I am really living in this Sakura country, and I will never forget it.
